Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Worth going for personal and authentic Italian. If you like al dente, you will get your fix here. The pastas are made on location, so you will not be disappointed in my humble opinion. I had the medallions of veal and it came very hot, and so did my mate's dishes. So we all felt a very personal touch was added to the food. Not under heat lamps...you know hot off the oven, like someone loving prepared a meal for you and knows how important a real meal is to you. The house-made tiramisu was spectacular. And the 2011 Malbec "Andeluna" was an excellent companion. Note that the 24-hour fitness sign caused us to drive by twice and without locating the front of the restaurant lol.

Appetizers were great. Entree's were ok. At them prices, they should of been great. The atmosphere reminded me of restaurants in Manhatten.

Fantastic and finally some really good Italian food in the Rochester area.

The food here was a major disappointment. Personally I liked the decor. The meat on the charcuterie plate was actually pretty good. Unfortunately it was served with only some lonely cubes of cheese. There was no mustard, pickles, olives, etc. The waiter did bring us some more bread when we finally managed to flag him down. Our salad was bland and forgettable. The house specialty pasta was tolerable but nothing to get excited about. Having said that about the food, we went there relatively early during the week, and before we finished our meal, a very loud, mediocre rock and roll band began playing, so that the only way we could communicate was by shouting. I felt as if I was at a bar back in college. We finished our meal as quickly as we could, rushed out of there, and found someplace else to have coffee and dessert.

Came here with family for a celebratory birthday dinner. The food was very expensive and the portions are on the small side. I thought my Gnocchi was incredible, but I would have loved to have some to take for lunch the next day. My husband wasn't too blown away by his pasta trio dish that he ordered. The wine was delicious and the bread was pretty good too. The ambience is wonderful, cozy and charming. Plus I love that it's tucked away in the corner... you have to search a little bit to find it. I think that adds to the charm. We may consider coming back if we have something special to celebrate. Maybe.

This is the best. Rito will bend you over and charm you to death next thing you know your getting a bill for $500. I will go to this place at least once or twice a month it is that good. Love it!

I was so looking forward to a spectacular New Year's Eve Dinner out with my husband. Unfortunately my husband's filet which he ordered medium came well done and dry. It was sent back only to get a rare one in return. Lesson learned...do not order filet at an Italian Restaurant. The owner did not even come back to see how the second filet was done. Very disappointing considering the praise it had gotten on yelp of excellent customer service. They did take his dinner off the bill. But when you cannot enjoy a dinner out at, what I thought, was going to be an exceptional restaurant, what's the point? No return customer here. I will also be sure to tell family and friends not to go there. By the way I am Italian, my whole family are immigrants from Italy, so I do know a thing or two about Italian cooking and have been to Italy many times to enjoy their culture and food.

Exceptional find. I rarely get to Detroit but I go out of my way to get here every time I'm in town. Tonight was my third time in a year. Always great Northern Italian cuisine. Octopus appetizer is exceptional. Same with the Bay scallops in saffron broth. Every entrée is excellent. For dessert, check out the fruit sorbet in their own fruit shells and Limoncello in personal ice shot glasses and silver spoon handles. See the posted photos.

Another great dinner here at Silver Spoon. Why not 5 stars? I had a fantastic piece of fish. However, $40.00 is why to ridiculous..I will come back. But next time I will ask the price of the daily special.
(4)Ahmet K.
great italian restaurant , you truly feel you went to Italy..they brought il posto with them..
(4)Sagar B.
Very good fine dining place. Went twice here. The chicken pasta dishes were yummy.. So was the bread. Good wine collection. They also have live music playing most of the time. That really livens up the atmosphere!
(4)Toby K.
Simply, THE best Italian joint in Metro Detroit area not named Bacco. In spite of its unfortunate placement on the corner of a grocery store parking lot, the interior is tastefully decorated and suave intimate. Service is casual friendly and impeccable. Excellent wine list. The pasta trio appetizer is not on the menu - but is a must. Every pasta dish, meat/fish entry on menu and on special we tried have been perfectly prepared and served. If so inclined, try their fish, deboned and served table side par excellence. Bravo!

Food: Fantastic, Fresh, Healthy Price: Comparable to other restaurants of this quality. After a few bottles of wine who even looks at the bill. Atmosphere: Cute place that is tastefully decorated. I love their outdoor seating. Service: Great service and always a kind word from the host. Overall a fantastic place for a special occasion or a business dinner to impress. There is one day of the week that I prefer above all others. Which day is it you ask - you will need to figure it our for yourself. Hint: its not the weekend.

The most authentic Italian food in Michigan! Everything I've had so far has been delicious. The gnocchi literally melts in your mouth. Everything is super fresh and homemade. For the quality of their food, they are pretty inexpensive. The service is hit or miss sometimes, but the food makes up for it. The owner is super friendly and took care of the service issue quickly. My go to Italian restaurant for sure!

Old world Italia came to Rochester. Silver Spoon is a very quaint, gourmet, quality ristorante which will not disappoint. Literally a 'hidden gem', this place is nestled in the corner of a plaza w Papa Joe's, the Hills & BodyBronze tanning. You have to squint at the sign by the outdoor patio to find it. Fresh baked bread is served with red pepper Olive oil & homemade bold olive tapenade. Service is outstanding & very professional. Decent wine selection & full, extensive bar, decorated with corks. I ordered a pasta dish with mini meatballs, simple tomato sauce & ribbon pasta. My dish was bursting with flavor. Also a side of asparagi alla parmigiana...covered in olive oil & the right amount of parmesan. A little on the small side, but that only creates a more intimate atmosphere. Can't wait to come back & try dessert!
(5)Lenny Liliana M.
The food was good-hence the 2 stars, but i did not enjoy the service provided. I don't mind paying a big bill if the food and customer service makes up for it and more importantly you end having a great time... this was not the case last night. The first time I tried to have dinner in this place, they could not seat us because it was a "private customer and friends" dinner... I found out about it because of a facebook post by the restaurant about this dinner; the post did not indicated this and it was a public post. I posted about the no seat in their facebook page as a feedback to the situation and my comment was not rude. Of course they didn't mind... No response. Then last night a friend invited me and decided to give another try, but after last night there won't be another visit. Lastly, when in Italy I felt more welcomed there (Venice, Tuscany, Florence, Rome) than in this restaurant; so it was sad to see a snobby customer service in here.

Great Food. Good Service. Good Ambiance. Poor Price. I would have easily given this place 5 stars if it weren't overpriced. My wife ordered the veal special (no price was mentioned)- $45. A very small side of spinach- $9 A small entree of pappardelle with mushrooms- $30 All-in-all, I hope to be back....when someone else is picking up the check.
(4)Stacy J.
Very, very, very disappointed. Don't show up hungry. Service was soooo slow. Food arrived and was portioned for a 6 year old. on the bright side, I ordered a side of asparagus that tasted good and actually was portioned for an adult. No drinks. Bill was $200 for 4 people. I would go to Lellies for fine Italian dining.
(2)Jani D.
This place is absolutely fantastic! My husband and I went in for a special date night. Everyone from the server to the food runner was extremely helpful and courteous. We split the carpaccio de Manzo to start- it was awesome! We also split a trio of home made pasta that was so yummy, I actually ordered one as my entree. Everything was fresh and you can tell the kitchen takes great care in their attention to detail. I could go on and on about our wonderful experience. The only problem is that it's not closer to where we live!

I recently had dinner here with some work associates and was not that impressed. Let me say that the place is hard to find for the first time. It is in the corner of Tienken and Rochester in an upscale strip mall, but no signage to help you figure out where it is - it's in the corner of the L-shaped mall, by the way. The only sign is a very small oval sign hanging from the entrance to the restaurant. I should have been a bit more observant of the obvious large spoons hanging in the windows, but when you drive by in your car, you are looking for signage, not decorations. You are greeted by coming into the bar area, with the reception to you right. The atmosphere is upscale and has a hectic feel to it. If the bar is full, it will be a bit hard to hear and navigate when you come in. The whole restaurant is relatively small, and the design is a combination of cutesy and upscale. The Christmas style ornaments and spoons hanging from the ceiling were corny, in my opinion. Otherwise, the ambiance fit nicely for an upscale place. The waiter greeted us nicely, but had no personality. He either had a strong Italian background or was a pretentious person. It wasn't his accent at all, but the fact he over-did the Italian pronunciation on the entire menu and specials list. In fact, it was hard for several of my guests to understand him! He would be speaking clear English, then launch into a grandiose over-done Italian accent to make him sound authentic ... I guess. The food itself was a mixed bag for our group. We had several who thought it was amazing, and a few of us - me included - who thought it was quite average or below so. I had the prosciutto and mozzarella as my starter and it was very nice. But, my seabass entree was only slightly warm, lacking flavor, and not well presented. The vegetables were such a small portion, I was very disappointed. The prices for the food and wine were expensive, in my opinion, even for Rochester Hills. Overall, it was a lukewarm experience, similar to my entree. I think for the price, one can do better in trendy Rochester.

My wife and I were looking for a nice place to celebrate a welcome and needed date night. We decided to try Silver Spoon. We had been in the restaurant one prior time but the circumstances weren't great. It was crowded, we were (we thought) underdressed and seated next to the restrooms. We chose to leave before ordering. But this evening we had planned appropriately and were looking for an upscale, quiet dining experience. On a Monday night we were fortunate. There were only 3 or 4 other couples there. The place is pleasant enough and on this night so empty it was quiet and uncrowded. On another evening (like our first visit) the space could easily be claustrophobic with a full house. The main room is long and thin, it's just not a great space. Our waiter was helpful as we negotiated the menu. I ordered some Riesling which was tasty but a bit pricey at $9 per glass. From reading other reviews I knew prices were high and portions small. We were famished so we ordered appetizers. My wife had the standard garden salad, which if anything was too large. I ordered the polenta Gorgonzola. Both came quickly. I found the polenta to be good but not great. It came on a bed of marinara which I found a bit odd. The polenta was grainier than I expected but the Gorgonzola whip was quite nice. My wife liked her taste of my marinara, which would become important later. The food took a little long in getting to us, but we were enjoying our time alone. She had ordered the special which was House made fettucini with beef tips and mushrooms and a wine and marinara sauce. The marinara here was very thin and as a result she didn't really care for the sauce. She asked the waiter for some extra marinara which he delivered promptly. We both found her selection to be just okay, even with the extra marinara. I had the special mixed grill (see pic). I had been craving some lamb and was going to order their market price chops. But the option of the mixed grill offered lamb, steak, chicken, veal, and sausage. Sounded great and it wasn't bad by any means. It came with a 'really you must be kidding' small portion of mashed potatoes and some greens beans and stewed tomato. Everything tasted good, but there really wasn't enough of it. The lamb simply elevated my itch. A little more potatoes would have been welcome. They were very tasty. The waiter took our dessert order. I wanted some limoncello and my lovely wife was game to try the panna cotta with mixed berries. She was less than pleased with her selection later but the waiter gamely offered her something else. She took the chocolate gelato and was pleased with the extra cocoa powder and cacao nibs. I was a little disappointed that the limoncello didn't come in an ice shot glass as seen elsewhere on Yelp. The drink itself was tasty with ample punch. I think the waiter comped us on some of the dessert, which was very kind. That said the bill with tip likely would have approached $150. The dinner itself, though good, was not a $150 value. Our experience was quite good. The waiter and setting was pleasant on a quiet night. The food was not bad by any means, but also not as good as we were hoping for given the reviews and word of mouth we've gotten. (BTW we've dined in Italy and know what to expect from the real thing). I'd award a solid 3.5 for our first trip. Rounds to 4. We'll try again another time. I still want to try their vaunted gnocchi.

We had a beautiful meal here. The food is well made, well seasoned and everything is done with care. What a treasure tucked back in the corner. We will definitely be back.

Great food if you like authentic Italian, waiter was helpful and knowledgable with the menu. Hard to find if you never been there before. Will differently return

You know how there are two kinds of people in business. 1- the kind that want to make every possible $$ 2- the kind that is passionate about what they do and strives for excellence Silver Spoons is that later. It is the perfect place for great meal, conversation and ambience It starts with Rito greeting you at the door. He always puts a smile on your face and is the consummate host. If you ever catch Rito wearing a white robe, you are in for a real treat The food is absolutly perfect- pasta, veal, whatever I ordered has been top notch. The stuff of dreams Bravo to silver spoon- and we are very thankful we have you in our neighborhood
(5)Michael M.
Service is still Euro style, but food is really very good and the staff seems attentive. Great place for authentic Italian.

I go in for dinner with a date on a wed. We are seated right away as it's about 3/4 empty. Then the waiter comes and has no personality. We look over the menu and wait... And wait. After 30 mins the waiter returns and takes our drink order then starts to walk away. After getting his attention we order and appetizer. 20 mins go by before we see our waiter with drinks and apps. We finally order. After being there for an hour this should be good right? Over cooked and rubbery calamari. I had the veal, which when it eventually came was way to small a portion for the price and was overcooked and dry. Date had the "homemade gnocchi" it was overcooked and just mush. The sauce was pretty heavy and the portion was small. Overall, this place is slow, over-priced, little portion and poor food quality. I won't be back.

Wonderful experience. Very casual atmosphere with just enough intimate ambiance to enjoy a quiet meal. My wife and I had a date night here, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was authentic and well prepared. My wife had the Spaghetti al Cartoccio and I had a Veal special. We both enjoyed a nice glass of wine with our meals, and we split the Tiramisu for desert. Wait staff was absolutely fantastic, with just enough humor and excellent knowledge of Italian cuisine. Will definitely return here. Highly, highly recommend.

The suburbs of Detroit are in for a treat. A native of the Northeast and familiar with great Italian food I was really excited to enjoy some genuine Italian food on a recent visit to Detroit. In the past, I always felt like the Midwest Region fell short when it came to Italian food, well that problem is solved! Silver Spoon provides an upscale atmosphere while still remaining cozy; both the bar and dining room areas are perfect to enjoy a drink and small meal or a full three course dining experience. With chefs straight from Turino, Italy you are in for a treat no matter what you order, but here are a few suggestions: Appetizers: Make sure to enjoy the freshly sliced Prosciutto. The Octopus Carpaccio is unique, fresh, and delicious While not featured on the menu, make sure to ask for the Duo of Pasta (or Trio of Pasta for an extra bonus). This appetizer shows off the true talents of the chefs. The Veal Saltimbocca is made to perfection. Make sure to save room for the house made Frangelico. Silver Spoon is great for dining alone at the bar, date night, or a business dinner. Can't recommend Silver Spoon enough.

Hubby and I came for date night. Valet checked on wait for us, immediate seating for 2 at 7:30 on a Friday, filled up shortly after. Attention to detail, amazing meal. Will come back for sure. #mynewfavrestaurantrochester

This place is outstanding. We have been here twice and the food is amazing. For being in the Papa Joe's plaza it has great ambience. We last went on a Friday night. I had a tomato salad and grilled seafood. Both were great. The rest of my table enjoyed their food as well. I had a couple of bites of my fiancee's tiramisu and it was great. We will be back.

Our group went for dinner late on a Sunday, near closing, but they were still accomodating and pleasant, and didn't rush us even as they were cleaning the restaurant at the end of the night. The location is a little tough to find, tucked underneath the Fitness 19, in the Papa Joe's complex north of downtown Rochester. And there isn't a large sign, either. But it has a nice, secluded outdoor patio for the Summer time (as secluded as could be, located right next to a parking lot), and a cozy-if-slightly-Olive-Garden decor inside. We'd had a big lunch so we only shared 3 pasta dishes, but we were impressed with what we had. They have a selection of fresh pastas and dried pastas -- we had two fresh and one dried. The hand-rolled strozzapreti pasta with sausage ragu (one of the day's specials) had a very homemade feel and a nice, hearty quality, the gnocchi with 4 cheese sauce was exceptionally light, and the orecchiette pasta (small, ear-shaped pieces) with lamb ragu was simple and delicious. All had authentic Italian -- not Italian-American -- flavors. Highly recommended, with the qualification that I need to make a return trip for some appetizers and entrees!

Bravo Rito and Danielle!!!!!! AMAZING food!!!!!!!!!!! The gnocchi was so light and delicate, they were like little fluffy clouds. By far best I have ever eaten. The veal was so tender and buttery. The handmade wild mushroom tagliatelle was cooked to perfection and so flavorful. The wine Sandy picked out for us was perfection! Great night, great place, bummed I waited so long to come visit. Grazie!
(5)Debbie M.
Great intimate restaurant. Reserved for our Anniversary. They wanted to put us right next to another couple, when the restaurant was empty. Asked for a corner table, and was told it was only available for 4 people. Big disappointment! Host needs guidance. Food is great, but husband ordered a pasta dish, and was still hungry. They need to increase portions. Also ordered dessert, Creme Brûlée and Flourless Chocolate cake. Both should have been served warm.
(3)J W.
Have always had fine meals and great service
(4)Gail S.
We had a lovely dinner at Silver Spoon last night. They serve outstanding Italian fare. Our bruschetta was.just right, and my sole was delightful. The only downside was the dessert selection-- I was underwhelmed by the emphasis on gelato and sorbets. Those are no-brained desserts.

If you would like to experience true authentic Italian food, Silver Spoon is the one. I have lived in Rome many years ago, and travel to Italy on business constantly. The Silver Spoon adamantly keeps their standard to true taste of Italy, as well as service. In Italy, we enjoy time first, so the diner could be one hour, or two hours or five hours. I read one of the reviews said the host told her that he does not know when his customer leaves and doesn't want to rush... This is Italy that I know and I love. If you don't like it yet want to have a great dinner, try less busy days. The portion is perfect. Try pasta before entree (just like people do in Italy) that way you truly enjoy taste as well as portion. "Do in Rome as Romans do" rings true :) Thank you for servicing us in this town and please stay as you are.
(5)Kate V.
I can't believe how amazing this place is! It was like I was transported back to Italy and given a culinary experience of a lifetime! Doug, our waiter was crazy attentive and anticipated our needs before we even did! If you can get to the patio, even with a wait, it's worth it. You can smell the aromas of the fresh flowers and herbs that blanket this cute little nook in Northern Rochester. Please try it out!
(5)Rebeca F.
People of Michigan: Behold, a true Italian restaurant! Forget about the big gooey, salty, creamy, heart stopping dishes that pass as italian food at some places these days. Try the Silver Spoon and be amaze by their delicate flavor combinations and the freshness of their ingredients. I have visit this place a couple of times and I always leave with a full belly, a happy face, and the satisfaction that comes from a good italian meal. Their bread, olive paste and spicy oil are really good, but if you like to order an appetizer I would suggest their antipasto della casa, their bruschettas and their lentil soup. I loved their Pollo ai Sette Colli (chicken with artichokes in white wine), but if you are a pasta fan (I am not) my husband recommends the Pappardelle ai sapori di sottobosco (ribbon pasta with mushrooms and italian cream) and the Primavera linguini. The tiramisu is very nice, not the most spectacular I have eaten, yet is a good way to end the meal. One thing you should be aware of is that the restaurant is usually packed, specially during the weekend. So, if you really want to try the Silver Spoon call before you visit and make a reservation.
(5)Pete D.
I like the place for the most part. The food is mostly good to better then many. The service is good but inconsistent the portion are smaller then the price should provide. This a good place for couples the food is not the standard everyday American Italian fare. The owner is a true import and thinks drinks and eats Italian. So you get sometime that is fresh and authentic. Just like the old country this restaurant is a little on the quirky side. I like the Silver Spoon.
(3)Tracy C.
By far the MOST AUTHENTIC Italian restaurant I have ever been to. The food is amazing and the busy atmosphere is great. It is a true gem we found on one of our date nights.
(5)Anthony V.
I chose Silver Spoon for my Valentine dinner with my Fiancee. I chose this restaurant based on the vicinity to my home as well as the reviews posted on yelp. I must say that I had very high expectations for the food at this place...and I am a little bit picky due to the fact that it is not very often we get to splurge on such an expensive dinner! Overall...I must say that the service was great. The atmosphere however was not what I expected to see with such a sophisticated menu. It was very loud and crowded. I spend much of my dinner with the waiter from the table next to Me's butt in my face right over our table! I ordered two appetizers, one hot and one cold. Both were priced about 7X's their value and were not prepared well at all. The entrees were decent...I had grilled salmon and my fiancee had the veal medal ions. Presentation was a little scary and unfortunately the sides were sub par at best. My fish was cooked well but it was heavily salted. The veal was very good but it was such a small portion that it was not enough to make up for the poor sides and the bad apps. Overall this restaurant would be OK if the price range was about 50% lower, however for the money you can do better at most chain Italian restaurants, olive garden aside. Also...they have no sign so if you don't already know where it is it is a little hard to find!

Thriving local business with delicious Italian fare! BUT, please get a new hostess and honor reservations or don't accept them. Our friends had two delightful dinners in the past and highly recommended this establishment. So, we made reservations for four and was excited to see what all the hype was about. We arrived a few minutes early and expected to wait maybe fifteen minutes for our table given that it was a weekend evening. WRONG. Although according to the hostess (wide-hipped, mousy woman with perma-scowl and a less than amicable demeanor), it would be "just a few minutes for the tables to clear." Thirty minutes later . . . still waiting. No update from the hostess. No nothing, actually. When we asked for a time frame, she replied with vague mumbo jumbo. Ten more minutes pass . . . still waiting. Another member from our party asks her for an update and she replies with "whichever table gets up next." Hmmm . . no crap. So we gave a 10-15 min window and a 15-20 min window and asked which one was more realistic. She says 10-15. If you're a hostess at a restaurant located in a strip mall, then you need to be pleasant and apologetic. NOT annoyed with questions about when an RSVP can be honored. Isn't that her job? Most reputable restaurants would apologize and ensure that someone stopped by with an apology. NOT here. Oh well. Hope the food is worth it. AND . . it is (although we may not be driving to Rochester for another less than ideal experience with the hostess). Since we had so much time staring at the bar, be sure to look up and view the cork decor. Nice touch and very creative! We're finally seated and review the menu. Great selection, but the font is hard to read. APP: I highly recommend the dual pasta appetizer that doesn't appear on the menu. Two delicious pastas, 1) mush-roomy cream sauce and 2) tomato based with a lil bit of meat. Bruschetta is OK. House salad was OK . . .too much oil, but the artichokes were hearty. Pomodoro salad is a HUGE sliced tomato that was refreshing and tasty. PASTA: Get the gnocchi. They melt in your mouth and remind me of soft pillows. I get bored with just one flavor so you may want to get another pasta with it if you're not getting an entree. The pasta primavera had a nice medley of veggies with dual-colored fresh pasta. DESSERT: Lemon sorbet and peach sorbet. Beautiful presentation and the sorbet is creamy and refreshing. Tiramisu is light and tasty. Synopsis: Hostess isn't a good host. . .more of an irritating eye sore. Wide menu selection with fresh fare. Restaurant is slow to turn tables. Be sure to look up at the bar and check out the cool cork decor.

The hostess/person in charge of answering the phone is very rude. I called at 4:30 p.m. (right when they open) to make a reservation for the following evening. She told me they where all booked up, and there was no way I could even come in and wait for a table or eat at a late time. HUH?? I asked when their next availability was since I was so eager to try it; she told me to try back in a couple months, they had a lot of important people with reservations. OKAY, I THINK I WILL PASS! THANK GOODNESS FOR OTHER RESTAURANTS THAT WERE SO WILLING TO FIT ME IN AND TAKE MY MONEY. I WILL NEVER GO TO YOUR "FINE DINNING ESTABLISHMENT".
(1)Richard A.
We met our friends here for our wedding anniversary. The menu selections and our choices were excellent. We had a pasta appetizer with porcini mushrooms and cream sauce that was outstanding. I had the grilled branzino sea bass that was de-boned at the table. My wife and I shared a cream brulee for dessert. The service was attentive without being intrusive. This place is hard to find as it is not yet listed in many sites. We will definitely be back.
(5)Sweets Custom C.
The food is amazing!! The pasta Bianca (porcini mushroom and cream sauce) is the stuff dreams are made of!! Our waiter Anthony took us on a culinary journey through the menu. We were so lucky to have him serve us. We didn't order one item. Each time we go we ask for Anthony. And he brings us course after course of delicious Italian food. The only negatives would be the wait. Even with a reservation we waited 30 minutes. The owners graciously served us wine while we waited. And this food experience is definitely worth the wait. And the cream brûlée custard was bland and over cooked. I was so happy with my pasta, salad, chicken, veal.... I didn't even care about dessert. If you love authentic, beautiful Italian food this place is a must try. Perfect for a date night or with a small group.

While visiting friends we were lucky to discover this wonderful restaurant! We were there on a Sunday and had such an amazing time we decided to return later that same week for the entertainment on the patio! Both visits were totally outstanding in the quality of the food, service and atmosphere. One person had the veal and stated it was the best he had ever had. Another had a pasta dish that consisted of 2 types of sauce, a rich cream sauce and a red sauce! Totally yummy! A couple of people had their signature dish of the sea bass, which was de-boned tableside. For dessert there was the tiramisu and an amazing amaretto pudding concoction. Both were amazing! It is tucked in the corner of the Papa Joes' plaza, a bit hard to see if you're not looking closely. I can't wait to get back to Michigan to make another visit or two!!

I was so excited to try this place for my birthday, after reading the wonderful reviews online. I agree with the earlier reviewer, this place is incredibly loud. I was with four other people and it was next to impossible to hear each other. Our waiter was odd, said a few strange things and spent so much time at his other tables, we rarely saw him. I swear it was over 15 minutes from the time we got our drinks until he took our order for the appetizers. The food was boring. We also got the polenta with gorganzola and it was strange. The calamari was good, however. I got the seafood risotto and it was good, although the seafood itself was dry, as if it had been under the heat lamp way too long. They did bring out some tiramisu, which was one of the best I'd ever had. Overall, I guess I was just disappointed.

We have been there 3 times...The Pasta Bianco appetizer is excellent, The bruschetta, the bread and olive oil are very good. The salads are fresh and tasty. We have had the Risotto, Chicken Carbonara, The filet and fish dishes and they were all pretty good...The service was a little slow a few times. Overall it's very good but a little pricey for what you get.

i would have loved to have been able to give them three and a half stars but thats not an option on Yelp. it was our anniversary and we wanted to go someplace nice. we had heard nothing but rave reviews and we both love italian food. lets start at the front door. we did not have a reservation and the hostess was not overly hospitable with us. we were seated all the way in the back corner right next to the restrooms when the rest of the dining room was half full at best. moving on to the service, it was top notch. well trained staff. very professional and handled themselves well. They did a ton of service tableside which is extremely rare and I loved seeing it. We split the frito misto which was awesome!! I had the Roasted chicken and my husband had the potato gnocchi. Both were very good tasting. I am never really that cost conscious when I dine out and receive quality food and great service. However, Silver spoon was just a touch on the pricy side for what it was. On a side note, the only off putting part of our experience was that every item we received was on a chipped plate. I'm sure they were very expensive and most likely imported from Italy. But for such a top notch Italian restaurant this to me was not something I could over look. We will definitely go back as there is truly a lack of great Italian restaurants serving high quality food. It seems like all of these great regional Itailain restaurants are being run out of town by Olive Garden. Now that is a shame. Best of luck to Silver Spoon and I look forward to giving it a second try.
